Raport on Krsko NPP operation in june 2024

In June, the Krško Nuclear Power Plant produced 524873.1 MWh of gross electrical power, providing 499818.3 MWh of net electrical power to the electrical grid. In this month, its production was 2.4% higher than planned (488000 MWh).

The availability factor was 100%. The plant operated within the limits of Technical Specifications. All safety systems were operable.

Due to the Krško NPP operation, the temperature of the Sava River rose by 1.3 ºC on average in June and by 2.5 ºC at most, in relation to the prescribed limit of 3 ºC.

The maximum total annual permitted specific activity of tritium in liquid discharges is 45 TBq. In June, the share of tritium amounted to 0.17% of the annual limit and its total share by the end of June represented 10.22% of the annual limit. The share of other radionuclides, whose permitted annual activity stands at 100 GBq, amounted to 0.0004% in June (annual limits) and to 0.0178% of the annual limit by the end of June.

The total impact on the population due to discharges of radioactive substances is 50 µSv at a distance of 500 meters from the reactor. The estimated impact in June was 0.04% of the annual limit or 0.83% of the annual limit by the end of June.

In this month, 3.3 m3 of low-level and intermediate-level radioactive waste was stored.
