Nuclear energy in EU: 109 operating reactors and a quarter of all low carbon electrical energy

There are 109 nuclear reactors in 15 EU Member States. Almost half of European electrical energy generated from nuclear power plants is from France and nuclear power provides almost one quarter of all electrical energy in the EU.
