Use of nuclear technology in agriculture and food industry

Food radiation kills bacteria that causes fast rotting and other illnesses and its use extends produce life. It works similar to freezing, cooling, and chemical treatment of produce, with the difference from other processes that it does not change the produce. Radiation is also used for sterilising food packaging.
